Job Description:
Centennial Technologies is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to support one of our major federal customers onsite in Cincinnati, OH. The ideal candidate is someone early in their IT career with a strong interest in network infrastructure, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time, 100% onsite position with opportunities for career growth and mentorship from senior technical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Windows administration support, including managing file/folder permissions, patching, firewall configurations, printer management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Support Active Directory, including account management, group policies, service accounts, and password updates. Includes work with Azure NetApp Files.
- Maintain and support VMware instances, including server creation, volume management, performance tuning, and snapshot handling.
- Configure and install network software to support upgrades and ongoing maintenance of network and telecommunications systems.
- Monitor, update, and resolve assigned helpdesk/work tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
Skills Required:
- 0–2 years of experience supporting Windows platforms and IT infrastructure.
- Basic experience supporting Active Directory environments.
- Hands-on experience with VMware or virtualization technologies.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely climb ladders up to 6 feet.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior engineers.
- Must be able to travel to local or remote sites as needed.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to work onsite 100% in Cincinnati, OH.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with Splunk.
- Experience with VEEAM backup solutions.
- Exposure to Cisco networking hardware and configurations.
